Today we said goodbye to Ann and Jim in Ormond Beach and traveled to Miami Beach to have dinner with Michelle, Dennis, and Stephanie.

Entrance to Oolite Restaurant and Bar, Miami Beach |
Michelle made reservations for us at the Oolite Restaurant on Pennsylvania Avenue. The food was organic, fresh, and fabulous! We decided to order several "small eats" to share. Among our favorites were these dishes:
- Arepas (fried green tomato and romescu), which was served with a delicious garnish whose ingredients we had to leave to our imaginations!
- BBQ Shrimp (one of Michelle's favorites)
- Tostones, served with lime and avocado (tostones are fried plantain slices, a popular side dish in many Latin American countries
- Best House Salad Ever, and it really was great -- with tomatoes, cucumbers, hearts of palm, the best sliced green olives we had even tasted, and a delicious herbed vinegrette
- Really Cheesy Mac & Cheese (yummy!)
- Cauliflower-Kale baked with a creamy goat cheese sauce (my personal favorite)
- Lechon, which was a roasted pork dish with onions and sour orange (this was fabulous)
This was a most memorable dinner, made especially so because we were able to share it with Dennis, Steph, and Michelle.

Strolling down Lincoln Road Mall |
After dinner, we walked down Lincoln Road Mall, marveling at all the people and shops. We found a tiny little gelato shop where we topped off this remarkable evening with some creamy gelato!
We reluctantly said goodnight to our companies, and Smoky and I drove to Florida City, where we are spending the night before traveling on to Long Key tomorrow.
